Contract Packing Accreditations

The BRC Global Standards is a leading safety and quality certification programme. The Consumer Product Standard guarantees the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria to ensure legal compliance and protection of the end customer and the finished product during its manufacture. Under BRC, products are classified into three categories which quantify the risk involved with the product’s manufacture.

Techtron operates a QMS system certified by SGS to Product Group 1 (High risk – products with both hygiene and safety concerns, e.g. cosmetics) with the site achieving a consistent Grade A throughout our audit history. Techtron’s quality management system gives our customers the confidence that their product specifications are being met, that the site is audited by experienced trained third party auditors and that product safety and legality issues are being addressed. BRC Global Standards are now often a fundamental requirement of leading retailers.

Techtron is a member of the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA), a well-established trade association that is highly respected throughout the UK and European packaging industry. The BCMPA has over 130 accredited members who provide an extensive range of services including Contract Packing, Contract Manufacturing, Filling, Fulfilment, Logistics or Supply Chain Management across many industry sectors.

The BCMPA acts as a voice for the industry and has played a key role in promoting the concept of outsourcing, becoming the first port of call for brand owners, manufacturers and retailers looking for professional outsourcing partners. The BCMPA portal provides a guide to Techtron’s contract packing services for use by prospective partners and customers.

The British Association for Chemical Specialities (BACS) is a UK-based trade association which represents companies operating in the speciality chemicals sector of the chemicals supply chain.

With over 120 members, BACS provides representation for SMEs, sole traders and large multinational companies which include manufacturers of speciality chemical ingredients, fine chemicals, performance chemicals for industrial and consumer use, formulators, distributors, retailers and service companies including regulatory affairs consultancies, contract research organisations, providers of analytical and testing facilities, toll manufacturers and contract packers.

Techtron attends the sector group meeting, training courses and the series of annual conferences facilitated by BACS and have liaised with their help desk and associated members to find solutions to our customers problems, including compilation of REACH and BPR dossiers, resolutions to SDS and CLP queries.
