Product Development

Development time varies for each individual product based on the proposed products complexity and lead times on new materials if we need to source them. Typically the development time is between 2 and 6 weeks. Once a sample of the product has been approved by the customer, the product must then be tested for stability.

Stability testing is where the final approved sample of your product is stored in three different temperature storage conditions and monitored for a length of 12 weeks.

A stability test is required for all new products we formulate. The stability test allows our lab team to accurately review products under controlled conditions at regular intervals (Every 4 weeks). Our team test the products against our quality control parameters to ensure the product is still within specification.

Once this 12 week test has concluded and passed, we can be confident that the product has a minimum shelf life of 2 years.

If a product fails the stability test, your account manager will be in contact to ensure you aware. Our lab team will review the product and determine the root cause of the issue and work to resolve this. Once changes have been made to the formulation, we will send you another sample of the product and then proceed once more with the stability test starting at day 1.

Our existing formulations can be altered to meet your needs. For example, if you require a product with a certain fragrance, colour or dilution ratio, we can adjust our current formulations to achieve this. Please note that when making a change to a formulation it will be subject to our NPD MOQs and also be required to undergo stability testing.

We do not have any fees for our product development service, we just ask that you adhere to our NPD MOQs of 2500 units or 2500L – whichever comes first.

As we do not have any fees for our product development service, we own the rights to that product’s intellectual property. We are open to releasing the IP for bespoke formulations under a separate contract.

The minimum order for all new product developments is 2500 units or 2500L – whichever comes first.

We are happy to use your existing product as a benchmark to formulate against. The more information you can provide on the product, the better.

We can review products that are currently on the market and use them as a benchmark to formulate to.

We offer a standard range of bottles and closures from stock. We are happy to source packaging to your requirements subject to order volumes.
